Are these document generators free to use?
Yes — every generator on this page is free with no signup required. Create and download as many documents as you need; there are no usage limits.
Do I need a company number to create an invoice?
No. A Companies House company number is optional on every generator here — sole traders without one can leave it blank and use their name instead.
How does VAT work on these documents?
Every generator with line items includes an optional VAT selector: None, 0% zero-rated, 5% reduced, 20% standard, or a custom rate. VAT is added on top of the net subtotal and shown as a separate line. If you enter a VAT number on the Invoice Generator, it titles the document "VAT Invoice" automatically. Not registered? Once your turnover crosses £90,000 you must register — check with the VAT Calculator.
Can I add my business logo and brand colours?
Yes. Every generator supports logo upload, an accent colour, contact details, and a footer note, so exported PDFs look like they came from your business.
