What is the difference between a quote and an invoice?
A quote is a proposed price the client has not yet accepted. An invoice is a request for payment once the work is agreed or delivered. A quote is not a demand for payment and carries no VAT liability until it becomes an invoice.
How long should a quote stay valid?
This generator defaults to 30 days, which is common for material and labour pricing that can move. Set a shorter window if your prices are volatile, or leave it blank if the price is fixed indefinitely.
Should my quote show VAT?
Show VAT on the quote if you know you will charge it once the job is confirmed — it avoids a price surprise later. Leave VAT set to "None" if you are not VAT registered.
