Final Pay Calculator When Leaving a Job

Rebuild the final payslip from wages still due, accrued holiday, notice pay, bonus and redundancy. The calculator keeps taxable earnings separate from the £30,000 termination-payment exemption.

Enter only amounts still due. Genuine redundancy is separated from wages, holiday and notice pay.

For variable pay, enter the rate based on the statutory 52 paid-week reference period.

Frequently asked questions

Must my employer pay unused holiday when I leave?

Yes. When employment ends, an employer must pay for untaken statutory leave. A deduction for holiday taken above entitlement normally needs prior written agreement.

Is notice pay or PILON taxable?

Yes. Notice pay and Post-Employment Notice Pay are treated as earnings and are subject to PAYE Income Tax and employee National Insurance.

How much redundancy pay is tax free?

The first combined £30,000 of genuine statutory redundancy, enhanced redundancy and qualifying termination compensation is normally free of Income Tax and National Insurance. Income Tax applies above £30,000; employer Class 1A NI may also apply, but employee NI does not.

Why can my actual final payslip differ?

PAYE depends on the payment date and tax code. If an employer pays you after issuing your P45, HMRC normally requires code 0T on a week-1 or month-1 basis. The calculator shows an incremental whole-year tax estimate.
